What are the heartrate monitors compliant with the app?

Currently, Polar H6, H7, H10 and OH1 heart rate sensors are integrated in MTS.

Is it possible to use other devices as bracelets or smart watches?

MTS can be connected with heart rate monitoring devices that transmit HR data through Bluetooth SIG standard and Bluetooth Low Energy technology. Any devices (wristband, thoracic band, smartwatch, headphones integrated sensors) that fulfill these requirements is compliant with the app specifications. However, currently the app has been validated only with Polar products.

Which Android versions are supported?

The required Android OS version for MTS is 4.4 (KitKat).

Which kind of mobile phones are compatible?

MTS is compliant with any smartphone that runs Android operative system (minimum software version 4.4).

May I use MTS in areas without a cellular network coverage?

MTS requires Internet connectivity during the first registration to the system. For next usages, the system doesn’t require Internet connectivity nor phone reception.

How does MTS work?

MTS is a real time guide to reach your training goals, using maximum heartrate as referral for your training program planning.

MTS allows to hear the music, only when you are inside your training target. Otherwise you’ll hear high and low frequency acoustic cues to reach such a purpose.

What are the main differences with other apps?

Mainly MTS uses the music as a guide for the training and not as a simple accompaniment.

Which kind of relationship is there between music and heartbeat?

There is a lack of scientific evidence about a real advantage in matching music and heart BPM’s, even if there are some theories connecting them. However, the most remarkable aspect about MTS is the role of music as a training guide and not simple accompaniment.

For which sports is it possible to use MTS?

Having as a reference the Heartrate, MTS is fit for every sport. MTS has just been tested in several activities as basketball, running, MTB, kayak etc., with excellent results.

May I use the app in the gym?

Yes, the app can be used in every place.

Does MTS geolocate me?

MTS requires the access to user localization data to activate Bluetooth Low Energy connection with heart rate monitor device. However, information about user’s position is not used anyhow.

How are used the collected data?

Monitored heart rate data is used to guarantee the correct functioning of the support service during physical activity. Music playback throughout the training is directly linked with the heart rate evolution and the adherence of measured values with the prefixed training target.

How many training profiles may I create?

How many you want. You need only to have enough space on your mobile phone memory. You can create and save your training session, setting duration and intensity.

How can I know my maximum heart rate frequency?

The best way is turn to a sport doctor, to do some test to obtain a this specific data that I can manually insert in the program. Differently, inserting my age, the system will provide to calculate it throughout the Tanaka formula, one of the more utilized for this purpose.

What are the heart rate frequencies suggested for different activities?

It’s no possible to generalize. About the creation of customized training programs, if you are not experienced enough, is better turn to physical activities experts.

Is it possible to save a training program to use it later?

Yes. The saved training programs can be used at every app access, simply uploading the training program previously stored.

May I modify or delete the training programs previously created?

Yes. In the setup menu is possible to rename, modify and delete all the training programs previously stored.

Which music is used as playlist?

The music played by the app is that present in your smartphone. During the playlist creation you ‘ll be required to select the favorite tracks for your training sessions.

How can create my playlist?

MTS accesses to musical library within internal and external smartphone memory. Through a devoted functionality in the main page of the app, it is possible to select desired music tracks to include them in the playlist used during the workout.

How are chosen the tracks to be played?

The tracks are selected by the system, between those present in the playlist created by the user, on the bases of a criteria of matching between the bpm of the music and those of  the heartrate planned for that specific stage of the training . For instance, if the reference heartrate is 90 bpm, the system will automatically select tracks present in the playlist of 90 bpm or as close as possible to this value.

During the training session, the music stops. What does it mean?

When I can’t hear the music means that I’m out from my training target. In that case I will hear low frequency acoustic cues to slow down the pace or high frequency acoustic cues to pick up the pace, with the purpose to return inside the fixed range of heartrate.
